| Here comes that rainbow again |
The scene was a small roadside cafe, The waitress was sweeping the floor. Two truck drivers drinking their coffee. Two Okie kids by the door. "How much are them candies?" they asked her. "How much have you got?" she replied. "We've only a penny between us." "Them's two for a penny," she lied. And the daylight grew heavy with thunder, With the smell of the rain on the wind. Ain't it just like a human. Here comes that rainbow again. One truck driver called to the waitress, After the kids went outside. "Them candies ain't two for a penny." "So what's it to you?" she replied. In silence they finished their coffee, And got up and nodded goodbye. She called: "Hey, you left too much money!" "So what's it to you?" they replied. And the daylight was heavy with thunder, With the smell of the rain on the wind. Ain't it just like a human. Here comes that rainbow again. ...thanks to Kris |

| Wonderful tonight |
It's late in the evening She's wondering what clothes to wear She puts on her make up And brushes her long blonde hair And then she asks me Do I look alright And I say yes, you look wonderful tonight
We go to a party And everyone turns to see This beautiful lady Thats walking around with me And then she asks me Do you feel alright And I say yes, I feel wonderful tonight
I feel wonderful Because I see the love light in your eyes And the wonder of it all Is that you just dont realize How much I love you
It's time to go home now And Ive got an aching head So I give her the car keys She helps me to bed And then I tell her As I turn out the light I say my darling, you were wonderful tonight Oh my darling, you were wonderful tonight ...thanks to Eric |

| Let's work together |
Together we'll stand Divided we'll fall Come on now people Let's get on the ball And work together Come on, come on Let's work together (Now now people) Because together we will stand Every boy, every girl and man People, when things go wrong As they sometimes will And the road you travel It stays all uphill Let's work together Come on, come on Let's work together You know together we will stand Every boy, girl, woman and man Oh well now, two or three minutes Two or three hours What does it matter now In this life of ours Let's work together Come on, come on Let's work together (Now now people) Because together we will stand Every boy, every woman and man Ahhh, come on now... Ahhh, come on, let's work together... Well now, make someone happy Make someone smile Let's all work together And make life worthwhile Let's work together Come on, come on Let's work together (Now now people) Because together we will stand Every boy, girl, woman and man Oh well now, come on you people Walk hand in hand Let's make this world of ours A good place to stand And work together Come on, come on Let's work together (Now now people) Because together we will stand Every boy, girl, woman and man Well now together we will stand Every boy, girl, woman and man

| Biloxy |
Down around Biloxi Pretty girls are swimming in the sea Oh they look like sisters in the ocean The boy will fill his pail with salted water And the storms will blow from off towards New Orleans The sun shines on Biloxi The air is filled with vapors from the sea And the boy will dig a pool beside the ocean He sees creatures from a dream under the water And the sun will set from off towards New Orleans The stars can see Biloxi The stars can find their faces in the sea We are walking in the evening by the ocean We are splashing naked in the water And the sky is red from off towards New Orleans ©1970 Jesse Winchester From the LP "Jesse Winchester" |

| Coast of Malabar |
Far away across the ocean, underneath an Indian star Dwells a dusky little (dark eyed lovely) maiden on the coast of Malabar In the harbour, where we anchored, I can see her shy and sweet With a bunch of wine-red roses and the wild waves at her feet Fare thee well, my little dark eyed queen fare thee well, my Indian star In my heart you'll live forever on the coast of Malabar Many a happy night I spent with her, 'neath the palm trees green and tall Many a happy night I danced with her down in yonder city hall She would raise her misty little face and gaze across the bay She would whisper "If you love me, why do you sail away?" Come to me, I hear her calling across the ocean wild and far Come to me again and love me on the coast of Malabar And my thoughts keep ever turning to that far-off distant shore And to that dark eyed girl who loved me, but I'll see her never more thanks to Ry and the Chieftains Lyrics are Irish traditional |

| I Do |
When I'm done with thinking, then I'm done with you When I'm done with crying, then I'm done with you When I feel so tired, then I'm done with you Everybody feels this way sometimes, everybody feels this way. And I do. You can hear it, but I do. You can hear it, but I do. You're trying to convince me that what I've done's not right I get so frustrated, I stay up every night. You ask me for an answer, and I'm so tired and I'm up in the air. Everybody feels this way sometimes, everybody feels this way And I do. You can't hear it but I do You can't hear it, but I'm feeling this way just because you say I will be ignored I will be denied I could be erased I could be brushed aside I will get scared, and I will get shoved down but I feel like I do because you push me around. And I do You can't hear it but I do You don't seem angry but I do I do. ...thanks to Lisa |

| Ships in the night |
Ships in the night Searching for day Beckoning lips So far away Shadows adrift Hiding from light Ships in the night Sometimes you feel Then again you can't Morning comes down Soon after the dance Time slowly drowns Streets so unreal Needing to heal Harbours of love Shining so calm Far beyond pain Outside of harm Why must we move Into the rain Again ... Ships in the night Riding the waves Yesterday slips Into the haze Memories ripped Sliding from sight Ships in the night Maybe you win Maybe you lose Future seems like Just another ruse Sirens invite Us to begin Come right on in Harbours of love Shining so calm Far beyond pain Outside of harm Why must we move Out of the sun Into the rain Again ... ..thanks to Jack |

| Poison lovers |
I was almost out of here Nearly left this time I saw you in my rearview mirror And I pulled up on a dime But nothin' ventured, nothin' lost You can't say we didn't try That is unless you weigh the cost Of every tear we cried Why do we do this to each other I guess we were always poison lovers If you could look me in the eye And tell me what you see Maybe you can tell me why I let you torture me I know that your lips are soft And they sing the sweetest songs But I've been listenin' long enough My heart has turned to stone Why do we do this to each other I guess we were always poison lovers Another time, another place Another wind to blame Cover every track and trace I'll find you just the same And even if we made our peace And went our separate ways You'd go west and I'd go east And we'd meet here in this place Why do we do this to each other I guess we were always poison lovers Why do we do this to each other I guess we were always poison lovers ...thanks to Steve |

| Cowboy in me |
I don't know why I act the way I do Like I ain't got a single thing to lose Sometimes I'm my own worst enemy I guess that's just the cowboy in me I got a life that most would love to have But sometimes I still wake up fightin' mad At where this road I'm heading down might lead I guess that's just the cowboy in me The urge to run, the restlessness The heart of stone I sometimes get The things I've done for foolish pride The me that's never satisfied The face that's in the mirror when I don't like what I see I guess that's just the cowboy in me
The urge to run, the restlessness The heart of stone I sometimes get The things I've done for foolish pride The me that's never satisfied The face that's in the mirror when I don't like what I see I guess that's just the cowboy in me Girl I know there's times you must have thought There ain't a line you've drawn I haven't crossed But you set your mind to see this love on through I guess that's just the cowboy in you We ride and never worry about the fall I guess that's just the cowboy in us all ...thanks to Tim |

| Foolish games |
You took your coat off and stood in the rain You're always crazy like that And I watched from my window Always felt I was outside looking in on you You were always the mysterious one with Dark eyes and careless hair you were Fashionable sensitive but too cool to care Then you stood in my doorway with nothing to say Beside some comment on the weather In case you failed to notice, in case you failed to see This is my heart bleeding before you This is me down on my knees These foolish games are tearing me apart And your thoughtless words are breaking my heart You'd teach me of honest things Things that were daring, things that were clean What an honest dollar did mean I hid my soiled hands behind my back Somewhere along the line I must have gone off track with you Excuse me, think I've mistaken you for Somebody else, somebody who gave a damn Somebody more like myself And these foolish games are tearing me apart And your thoughtless words are breaking my heart ...thanks to Jewel |

| If I needed you |
If I needed you Would you come to me Would you come to me For to ease my pain If you needed me I would come to you I would swim the seas For to ease your pain Well the night's forlorn And the morning's born And the morning shines With the lights of love And you'll miss sunrise If you close your eyes And that would break My heart in two If I needed you Would you come to me Would you come to me For to ease my pain If you needed me I would come to you I would swim the seas For to ease your pain Baby's with me now Since I showed her how To lay Her lilly Hand in mine Who would ill agree She's a sight to see A treasure for The poor to find If I needed you Would you come to me Would you come to me For to ease my pain If you needed me I would come to you I would swim the seas For to ease your pain ...thanks to Emmilou and Townes |

| In the arms of an angel |
Spend all your time waiting for that second chance For the break that will make it ok There's always some reason to feel not good enough And it's hard at the end of the day I need some distraction oh beautiful release Memories seep from my veins They may be empty and weightless and maybe I'll find some peace tonight In the arms of an Angel fly away from here From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie You're in the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here So tired of the straight line, and everywhere you turn There's vultures and thieves at your back The storm keeps on twisting, you keep on building the lies That you make up for all that you lack It don't make no difference, escaping one last time It's easier to believe In this sweet madness, oh this glorious sadness That brings me to my knees In the arms of an Angel far away from here From this dark, cold hotel room, and the endlessness that you fear You are pulled from the wreckage of your silent reverie In the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here You're in the arms of an Angel; may you find some comfort here ...thanks to Sarah |

| Coat of many colors |
Back through the years I go wonderin' once again Back to the seasons of my youth I recall a box of rags that someone gave us And how my momma put the rags to use There were rags of many colors Every piece was small And I didn't have a coat And it was way down in the fall Momma sewed the rags together Sewin' every piece with love She made my coat of many colors That I was so proud of As she sewed, she told a story From the bible, she had read About a coat of many colors Joseph wore and then she said Perhaps this coat will bring you Good luck and happiness And I just couldn't wait to wear it And momma blessed it with a kiss Chorus: My coat of many colors That my momma made for me Made only from rags But i wore it so proudly Although we had no money I was rich as I could be In my coat of many colors My momma made for me So with patches on my britches Holes in both my shoes In my coat of many colors I hurried off to school Just to find the others laughing And making fun of me In my coat of many colors My momma made for me And oh I couldn't understand it For I felt i was rich And I told them of the love My momma sewed in every stitch And I told 'em all the story Momma told me while she sewed And how my coat of many colors Was worth more than all their clothes But they didn't understand it And I tried to make them see That one is only poor Only if they choose to be Now I know we had no money But I was rich as i could be In my coat of many colors My momma made for me Made just for me ...thanks to Dolly |

| My Way |
And now, the end is here And so I face the final curtain My friend, I'll say it clear I'll state my case, of which I'm certain I've lived a life that's full I traveled each and ev'ry highway And more, much more than this, I did it my way Regrets, I've had a few But then again, too few to mention I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway And more, much more than this, I did it my way Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew But through it all, when there was doubt I ate it up and spit it out I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way I've loved, I've laughed and cried I've had my fill, my share of losing And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing To think I did all that And may I say, not in a shy way, "Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way" For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels The record shows I took the blows and did it my way! [instrumental] Yes, it was my way (P. Anka, J. Revaux, G. Thibault, C. Frankois)[Recorded December 30, 1968, Hollywood] |
