Title: Terschelling, remainings of the 'Westbatterie'
Caption: Terschelling [prov.of Friesland] Casemate, 'Westbatterie' near the village of West-Terschelling. 'Westbatterie' and 'Ostbatterie' near the village Oosterend, were part of the long line of coastal defense, called the 'Atlantikwall'. During the period 1940-1945 about 1000 German soldiers were encamped at the isle of Terschelling.
