Caption: Harlingen [prov.of Friesland] One of the many old streets in the centre of the town of Harlingen. The town prospered in the 16th and 17th century but after 1750 the town fell into decay till far into the 20th century. It therefore remained a town with very its original old town-plan, moats and canals and relatively few newer area's and architecture. Photo by Sijbren Sijtsma,summer 2005.
